Chamber Working to Maintain and Create Jobs

In difficult economic times all businesses and organizations must focus on the fundamentals. For the Chamber this means jobs. Job creation and job retention. Keeping Santa Feans employed will maintain prosperity, reduce crime and social stress, and help maintain pride and a sense of community purpose.

Recently the Chamber has been busy:

Growing the Local Economy:

Supporting the Buckman Direct Diversion and the $287 million in expected economic impact
Supporting Anerican Eagle Airlines flights to Santa Fe from DFW and LAX
Successfuly lobbying for weekend service for the Rail Runner which is bringing hundreds of visitors to our comunity
Creating a bilingual business development division to offer complimentary, confidential assistance and resources to all local businesses
Partnering with TVC, SCORE and others to present free business seminar series to help local businesses
Partnering in the “Buy Into Santa Fe“ program designed to keep revenue in our community
Lobbying local elected officials on behalf of business

Promoting the Community

Supporting the College of Santa Fe and its mission to provide four year learning opportunities for local students
Hosting trade missions to China with over 300 travelers
Supporting the 400 year annivesary commemoration events
Hosting Business Matters - a weekly radio show that showcases local businesses
Hosting the Santa Fe Fiesta Council for the Annual Fiesta Luncheon
Running the Leadership Santa Fe program to identify and train the next generation of community leaders

Providing Networking and Marketing Opportunities

Hosting hundreds and legislators and business leaders at the annual Legislative Reception
Hosting the Business Expo and Job Fair at De Vargas Center to bring together local businesses, employees and customers and the resources to help them
Creating the Santa Fe Business Award program to recognize excellence in the local business community
Hosting 50+ networking events each year to connect local businesses
